Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we hear most often. Don't see yours? Email hello@taleemy.org.
Privacy
Who can see my reflections?
Only you. Private reflections are enforced at the database level with row-level security. Not even administrators of your school can read them.
Can my school administrator see my inquiries?
Only if you choose to share them at the school level. School admins see aggregate analytics (counts, cycle stages) but not the content of private reflections.
What happens to my data if I leave a school?
Your account and your inquiries remain yours. You can move to an individual (free) account and keep everything you created.
The inquiry cycle
What are the phases?
Insight → Question → Plan → Act → Gather → Reflect. Each phase unlocks after the previous one is marked complete.
How long does a cycle take?
Most teachers run a cycle across a 4–8 week unit, but you can go faster or slower. There are no deadlines imposed by the platform.
Schools
How do teachers join a school account?
An instructional coach creates the school account and invites teachers by email. Teachers accept via a link and join the workspace.
What's included in a school workspace?
PLC team workspaces, school-wide sharing, coach-managed invitations, and admin analytics — all free right now.
Cost
Is there any cost?
No. Taleemy Inquiry is free for teachers and schools at the moment, with no credit card required.
Will pricing be introduced later?
Possibly for school workspaces. If it happens, we will announce it well in advance.
Publishing
Can I keep my inquiry private and still get feedback?
Yes. You can share with your PLC team or your school without publishing to the public Research Commons.
Can I unpublish an inquiry from the Research Commons?
Yes, at any time from the inquiry's visibility settings.
