Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026. This page is maintained by Taleemy and describes how the Taleemy Inquiry app handles your data. Please review with your legal counsel before adopting for institutional use.
Our approach
Taleemy Inquiry is built for teacher-led action research. Our guiding principle is the reflection-privacy invariant: private reflections are visible only to the teacher who wrote them. This is enforced in the database with row-level security, not by convention.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email, and, for school users, school affiliation and role.
- Inquiry content: research questions, plans, evidence you upload, action logs, and reflections you author.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and error diagnostics to keep the service reliable.
How we use your information
- To provide and maintain the inquiry cycle features you request.
- To operate school-based accounts and workspaces.
- To improve reliability and security of the platform.
Who can see what
- Private reflections: only you.
- Team-shared inquiries: only members of your PLC team.
- School-shared inquiries: only members of your school community.
- Publicly shared inquiries: anyone on the internet — you choose per inquiry.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your inquiries, evidence, and account at any time from your profile. Deletion is permanent. School administrators may retain aggregated, anonymized analytics for their school.
Children and student data
Taleemy Inquiry is designed for educators, not students. Please do not upload identifiable student information (names, IDs, photos of students, or graded work). Use pseudonyms and aggregate data where possible.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us at privacy@taleemy.org to make a request.
